馃摑: In a recent Bad Friends podcast interview, mgk talked about his daughter casie and how she influenced him to mature. mgk said "she's 14. my daughter's black." When Bobby Lee asked what he's going to do if his daughter asked him "can I get tattoos?" mgk said "that one happened when she was really young. when you're older." mgk also said: "I also I just don't wanna limit her creativity in any way. I didn't really hide who I was to her, and I also never really wanted to, because I didn't want that from another person to like lure her like the person of being like the perception of "oh I want what I'm not supposed to have." it's almost like very just, she could never be impressed by someone being like I got cars and. she's very comfortable in her own skin and a very strong independent woman who is like, you know, I come from a father who gives me flowers, and tells me how beautiful I am, you know, is very open about his lifestyle to where that doesn't impress me, like I need someone who's gonna, you know, court me. it hit me at a certain age, like when I really needed to mature as an individual when she was like, she has the internet too. and so she started seeing me in ways that I'm like, oh I'm not proud of that as a father. I had a baby when I was 18 or 19. it didn't hit until she was able to kind of admit that she was disappointed in me. and I was, as a father who views her as, you know, like my best friend and probably the only person I really care to impress. I wasn't proud of a lot of the things that the ways I was representing myself. I'm weighed down by it a lot. plenty of people on the internet choose to remind me all the time, but it's also my job as one of the leading voices of a generation to, who also can relate to being misjudged by things they did when they were younger or maybe needing someone to show them how to mature. I looked at the people on TV or in music as my parents. I don't do a great job with that all the time with my lyrics, but as I grow out, I'll continue to try and take my job as a f up who is no longer that."
