The vast majority of videos on the ego and consciousness get these concepts completley wrong. It’s trendy in the so-called “spiritual” community to condemn the ego. Many mystics, new age gurus and eastern religions teach that you should destroy their ego. This is terrible advice and the worst thing you can do if you want to raise your consciousness and actualize your higher self.
The ego is not who you are. But it should never be destroyed. It’s the Gateway for your Higher Self. Carl Jung said, “The ego stands to the Self as the moved to the mover, or as object to subject.”
