Island of the Sea Wolves | Official Trailer | Netflix
https://youtube.com/Netflix
Explore wild, wondrous Vancouver Island, where the ocean nurtures all life, from bald eagles who go fishing to sea wolves who swim in frigid waters.
This is a story of passion: passion for wolves, or better coast wolves! Coast wolves are unique - they have more genetic variability than any other wolf and live in the coastal forests and islands of the west coast of Canada. Our protagonist, Gudrun Pflueger, is an ex world champion cross country skier and long distance runner. She has been studying wolves in the wild of Canada collecting field data, hair, droppings and other evidence for use in scientific projects on wolves. In this film we follow as she goes in search of the coast wolves of British Columbia.

White Wolf - Life & Death of the Hayden Valley Pack | Wildlife Documentary
Watch 'White Wolf - Part 2' here: https://youtu.be/UICxPn6Ry1I
For ten years two wolf packs have struggled to survive in Yellowstone’s Hayden Valley. The alpha female of the Hayden Valley Pack is the White Wolf of our recording of her life as a puppy until her death. This covered a ten year period, a unique document of a wild animal over her entire life time.
Ten years after wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone Park in 1995, White Wolf’s pack is the first pack to den in Hayden Valley. Although the valley is rich in ungulates for eight months, the harsh winter drives most of the elk and bison down to lower elevations. The pack must find a way of securing food in the most severe conditions. There is ample prey in Yellowstone Park – in fact the elk
herds had grown so large that they were having a negative impact on the plant ecology of the Park. The return of wolves would do a great deal to correct that imbalance.

The Yellowstone Wolf Reintroduction has been a resounding success since it began in 1995. Yellowstone’s wolves saved an ecosystem that was barren, overgrazed, and overpopulated with elk.
The return of wolves brought about a whole host of ecological changes, starting with the return of vital riparian trees like cottonwoods, aspens, and willows. The return of Yellowstone’s streamside vegetation also meant the return of beavers, fish, muskrats, and other animals. More elk carcasses meant more food for bears, cougars, eagles, and vultures. Yellowstone’s wolves even changed rivers themselves. With trees on their banks, rivers were stabilized and less susceptible to erosion.
Perhaps even more remarkably, wolves even changed elk behavior. Termed the “Valley of Fear,” the very presence of wolves in Yellowstone caused elk to avoid certain areas simply because they were scared. Wolves saved Yellowstone by bringing back ecological relationships that were centuries old, but had been lost in the last 100 years.
In this video, we’re taking a look at all of that and more, as we breakdown the Yellowstone wolf reintroduction. This video is also the second installment in my series on the Green World Hypothesis and predators in National Parks. If you want to see the first installment, you can check that out here: https://youtu.be/ysw7YbKC99w

Hi everyone! From extremely endangered species to practically mythological creatures, here are 10 wolves you won't believe exist.

10: Arctic Wolf
The Arctic wolf is unbelievable in its adorableness. They look an awful lot like Arctic Foxes, and they are some of the most elusive and non-threatened wolves in the world. They are one of the only animals in the world whose habitat is not currently being destroyed. This is because they live in Greenland and the Arctic regions of North America, and they are heavily isolated.
9: Black Timber Wolf
There is nothing more terrifying than a giant black timber wolf with sharp fangs and red eyes. Black wolves are the most terrifying and most fearsome of any other species of wolf. And while they don't have red eyes but they are pretty intimidating. Nobody knows this more than a man who recently shot a video of what appears to be a black timber wolf chasing a dog through the forest.
8: Man-Eating Gray Wolves
This is a pretty unbelievable story about some seriously ferocious wolves. In northern Saskatchewan, in the same region where the giant black wolf was spotted in our previous story, there have been packs of gray wolves getting bolder and bolder, and going so far as to attack human prey.
7: Sea-Wolves
You have heard of gray wolves, timber wolves, arctic wolves, and even dire wolves. But have you ever heard of sea wolves? If you didn't know any better, you would never even believe sea wolves are real. But they are! National Geographic even did a segment on them. In a world of endangered species, wolves being hunted to the brink of endangerment, and shrinking habitats, wolves have adapted to a life at sea.
6: Northwestern Wolf
Let's stop and take a minute to talk about one of the world’s largest wolves. The northwestern wolf is an absolutely unbelievable animal. It is majestic, it is gorgeous, and it is massive. This wolf probably weighs the same as you or a little more. The northwestern wolf can grow to be roughly 170 pounds (80 kg).
5: Yuki the Wolfdog
Meet Yuki the wolfdog, 87.5% gray wolf, 8.6% Siberian husky, and 3.9% German shepherd. Yuki is an extremely unique animal almost completely wolf with just a dash of a dog in his genes. Yuki became famous after photos of him at The Shy Wolf Animal Sanctuary were put online.
4. Canadian Killer Wolf
Another terrifying story of a wolf attack. Most people think about wolves as timid creatures who hunt in packs and stick to the shadows. But a New Jersey family just discovered how horribly wrong this misconception is.
3. O-Six
For those who don't know, Yellowstone National Park over 10 years ago began trying to repopulate the park with wildlife, and more specifically with wolves. When the wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park, it sparked an explosion of other animals also returning to the park, including bald eagles and beavers.
2. The Wolf Man
Meet the incredible wolfman. Marcos Rodriguez Pantoja was abandoned as a child and survived for 15 years in the wild while being raised by wolves. He may not be a genetic wolf, but that doesn’t make him any less of an unbelievable creature! It happened in 1953, and as a child who was seven years old, he was abandoned to fend for himself.
1: Dire Wolves
Yes, dire wolves are real. Or rather, they used to be real. Back in the last Ice Age, there were enormous wolves then used to hunt bison and other massive animals, sometimes even small mammoths. However, just like the woolly mammoth and the sabretooth tiger, dire wolves went extinct several thousand years ago.
#amazingwolves #wolfspecies #legendarywolves #talltanic
A return to the land of the living begins with the maned wolf. An ancient creature managing to survive despite the hardships humans have put on it with the destruction of South America's heritage.

This is not a Game of Thrones fan fiction episode. Dire wolves were real! And thousands of them died in the same spot in California. Their remains have taught us volumes about how they lived, hunted, died and way more about any animal’s sex life than you’d ever want to know.

Wolves Hunt Caribou In Quebec’s Northern Forest | Wild Canadian Year
http://youtube.com/user/cbctv
Yellowstone National Park is an American national park located in the western United States, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana, and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.
