We compare the Ring Wired Doorbell vs the Ring 4 Video Doorbell. Both the Ring Wired and Ring 4 are updated Ring Video Doorbells that were launched in 2021. The Ring Wired and Ring 4 are smart wifi compatible video doorbells that allow you to view the live or recorded video footage on your phone. Both smart doorbells include updated features to the Ring line up which includes Pre-Roll footage and quick replies.
The Pre-roll footage includes 6 seconds of footage before the motion sensor is tripped on the doorbell which is designed to better capture events and things that happen before motion is detected on the doorbell. Both the Ring 4 and Ring Wired Doorbell include this feature and it is a great addition and improvement from previous generations of Ring Doorbells.
Both devices also include the quick replies feature which allow you to specify and automated quick reply when someone presses the doorbell like "leave a message" if you're not there. The quick replies feature is selectable through the ring app on your phone.
Both the Ring Wired and Ring 4 offer 1080HD video and night vision. The biggest difference the between the two doorbells is that Ring Wired doorbell requires a hardwired connection and the Ring 4 can either use an existing hardwired connection or run completely wireless on battery power with its built in rechargeable battery that can then be removed and recharged.
