Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Set to release on February 18, 2022. A sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States. The Quarry is a survival horror interactive drama video game played from a third-person perspective. Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is a collaborative effort between game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and fantasy novelist George R. R. Elden Ring takes place in the realm of the Lands Between, sometime after the destruction of the titular Elden Ring and the scattering of its shards, the Great Runes. Once graced by the Ring and the Erdtree which symbolizes its presence, the realm is now ruled over by the demigod offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal, each possessing a shard of the Ring that corrupts and taints them with power. As a Tarnished — exiles from the Lands Between who lost the Ring's grace — summoned back after the Shattering, players must traverse the realm to ultimately find all the Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the Elden Lord.

Elden Ring is an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective and features elements similar to those found in its predecessors, the Souls series as well as Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that players start with a linear opening but will eventually progress to freely explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the vast open-world map. These main areas are interconnected through a central hub that players can access later in the game's progression — similar to Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls — and will be explorable using the character's mount as the main mode of transport, although a fast travel system will be an available option. Throughout the game, players will encounter non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies alike, including the demigods who rule each main area and will serve as the game's main bosses.

Combat in Elden Ring relies heavily on character-building elements found in previous Soulsborne games, such as calculated, close-ranged melee-based combat with the use of skills, magic abilities, as well as blocking and dodging mechanics. Elden Ring will introduce mounted combat and a stealth system.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is the eleventh main installment in the Assassin's Creed series developed by Ubisoft. The game is set in Ancient Greece, and will feature RPG elements, including dialogue options and the ability to select between a male or female protagonist. The player takes control of a Spartan rejected by their family, making the journey from outcast mercenary to legendary hero, learning the truth about their past along the way.

Both Alexios and Kassandra start the game as a mercenary and a descendant of the Spartan king Leonidas I. They inherit his broken spear, which is forged into a blade to become a weapon that grants the player special abilities in combat. The game uses a skill tree system that allows the player to unlock new abilities. The three skill trees include "hunter", which improves player character's archery, "warrior" which puts emphasis on combat, and "assassin" which focuses on stealth. This replaces the system used in Origins, which granted the player a series of passive abilities.

Resident Evil 3 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. The game is a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999), and follows Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira as they attempt to survive a zombie apocalypse while hunted by the intelligent bioweapon Nemesis. The story is set during the same time of events of Resident Evil 2 in September 1998. Players control former police officer Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse caused by an outbreak of the T-Virus. She is hunted by an intelligent bioweapon known as Nemesis, who attempts to kill her and all remaining members of her police division, the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.). The game also follows the mercenary Carlos Oliveira, hired by Umbrella to help survivors.

On September 28, 1998, 24 hours prior to the events of Resident Evil 2, former Special Tactics And Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.) member Jill Valentine attempts to escape from Raccoon City. Most of the population has been transformed into zombies by an outbreak of the T-virus, a new type of biological weapon secretly developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. On her way to the Raccoon City Police Department, Jill runs into fellow team member Brad Vickers, who is killed by a new enemy. This creature, Nemesis, is a bio-organic weapon programmed to target surviving S.T.A.R.S. members, witnesses of Umbrella's experiments. As she evades Nemesis, Jill encounters three surviving members of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.): Carlos Oliveira, Mikhail Victor, and Nikolai Zinoviev. Nikolai explains to Jill and Carlos that a rescue helicopter can be contacted if they manage to reach the city's Clock Tower and ring the bell.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is an action role-playing game developed and published by Techland. The sequel to 2015's Dying Light, the game is available on February 4, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Dying Light 2 is a first-person zombie apocalypse-themed action role-playing game. The game stars a new protagonist named Aiden Caldwell, who is equipped with various parkour skills. Players can perform actions such as climbing ledges, leaping off from edges, and wall running to quickly navigate the city. Tools such as a grappling hook and a paraglider also aid transversal in the city. Aiden can also use the undead to break his fall. The game is mostly melee-based with the majority of fighting using melee weapons. The melee weapons have a limited lifespan and will be degraded and eventually broken if the player uses them for combat for a long time. Aidan can also utilize superhuman skills due to the infection. Like the first game, the zombies are slow when expose to sunlight, but they become significantly more aggressive and hostile at night.

The game is set in The City, a massive urban open world which players can explore freely. The map, which is four times bigger than the original game, is broken into seven distinct regions and each has its own landmarks and locations. When exploring the city, players can scavenge different scraps and resources for crafting new items and weapons. In the game, players meet different factions and settlements and have to make different decisions that would fundamentally change the state of the game's world and how non-playable characters view Aidan. The consequences are far-reaching, with the player being able to bring prosperity to a faction while completely destroying another settlement. Making certain decisions will also open up or seal-off areas in the city, encouraging players to complete multiple playthroughs. Like its predecessor, the game features four-player cooperative multiplayer.

Death Stranding is an action game developed by Kojima Productions. It is the first game from director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions after their disbandment from Konami in 2015. It is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 by Sony Interactive Entertainment in November 2019, and for Microsoft Windows by 505 Games in 2020. The title of the game is a reference to the cetacean stranding phenomenon.

Death Stranding is set in an open world, which also includes multiplayer functions. Kojima compared the genre to how his earlier game Metal Gear – now considered to be a stealth game – was called an action game during its release because the stealth genre was not considered to exist at the time.

People have created "Walls" and become accustomed to living in isolation. Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the "Strand" or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or "Strands" with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you'll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

Set in 1968 in the city of New Bordeaux, a fictional recreation of New Orleans, the story revolves around Lincoln Clay, an orphan and a Vietnam War veteran, who is on a quest to build a new crime organization to confront the Italian mob.

The game takes place in the year 1968, and revolves around Lincoln Clay, a biracial orphan and Vietnam veteran. As an orphan, he was constantly looking for a family, until he joined The Black Mob and later the armed forces and fought in the Vietnam War. After serving, he returned to New Bordeaux (a fictionalized version of New Orleans) and rejoined the black mob. The Black Mob's leader tasks Lincoln to assist Giorgi Marcano (Son of The Don who runs the Italian Mafia) with robbing the Federal Reserve: once the heist is completed, Lincoln returns to Sammys Bar with their half of the money while Giorgi returns to his father Sal Marcano with the other half, however, Marcano has other intentions and decides to get the other half the Black Mob has in their possession. Giorgi and his father agree. They schedule a meeting with the Black Mob at a Black Mob's owned bar with its lieutenants and leader at the location, once the meeting happens they open fire on their former allies with Lincoln caught within it, taking a bullet to his skull. After surviving the murder attempt by the Italian mob which wiped out the whole black mob in the process, Clay is saved by Father James and attempts to start his own criminal organization to get revenge. Clay is aided by three allies, which include Cassandra, Burke, and Vito Scaletta.

Vanguard's multiplayer mode is slated to launch with 20 total maps, 16 of which are featured for core game modes, while the other 4 are for a brand new game mode titled "Champion Hill", stated to be the next iteration of Gunfight, a 2v2 arena mode previously featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In addition to the Gunsmith system returning in a more advanced form, Vanguard multiplayer will also feature a so-called "Caliber system" which brings immersive elements of destructible and reactive environment to its maps. Besides introducing an upgraded anti-cheat system and a new map scheduled to be launched at a later date, as with Cold War, Vanguard will integrate with Call of Duty: Warzone, allowing players to progress and use weapons, operators and other cosmetics items across both titles, in addition to the existing Modern Warfare and Cold War items in Warzone. Furthermore, just like the previous main installments of the Call of Duty franchise since 2019, Vanguard's multiplayer will also be fully cross-platform play compatible with a support for cross-generation gaming regarding eighth and ninth generation home video game consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt Red. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customizable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.

Cyberpunk 2077 is played in a first-person perspective as V, a mercenary whose voice, face, hairstyles, body type and modifications, background, and clothing are customizable. Stat categories—Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool—are influenced by the character classes that players assume, which are NetRunner (hacking), Techie (machinery), and Solo (combat). V must consult a "ripperdoc" to upgrade and purchase cyberware implants; black markets offer military-grade abilities. The rarity of any given equipment is shown by a coloured tier system. V can take cover, aim, run, jump, double jump, and slide. Melee strikes can be dealt with close-combat weapons. There are three types of ranged weapons, all of which can be customised and modified—Power (standard), Tech (which penetrate walls and enemies), and Smart (with homing bullets). Ranged weapons are equipped to ricochet bullets in a target's direction and slow them down in bullet time. Four types of damage can be inflicted and resisted—Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical. Weapon use increases accuracy and reloading speed, which are manifested in character animations. Gunsmiths repair and upgrade weapons. The game can be completed without killing anyone, with non-lethal options for weapons and cyberware.

Night City is an American megacity in the Free State of North California, controlled by corporations and unassailed by the laws of both country and state. It sees conflict from rampant gang wars and its ruling entities contending for dominance. The city is reliant on robotics for everyday aspects like waste collection, maintenance, and public transportation.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment and the twenty-second release in the Assassin's Creed series, and a successor to 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Set in the 9th century, the player controls Eivor, a Viking raider and Assassin during the Viking invasion of Britain. The game is scheduled for release in late 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, and is to be Ubisoft's launch title for the next-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

In Valhalla, the player takes on the role of Eivor, a Viking raider who leads their fellow Vikings from Norway in raids and battles against King Aelfred and the four Anglo-Saxon medieval kingdoms of England – Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia – near the end of the 9th century as part of the Viking invasion of Britain. Additionally, the game will continue to tie into the modern-day events related Abstergo Industries' researcher Layla Hassan, who was featured in both Origins and Odyssey, and to the Templars and Assassins that have tied the series together.

Players will have the choice of playing Eivor as either male or female and are further able to select their hair, warpaint, clothing and armor. Combat has been changed to allow dual wielding of almost any weapon. The "Eagle Eye" mechanics are also expected to return in the form of a raven that will be Eivor's animal companion in the game. The player can use the raven to scout the nearby areas as previous avian companions had done in Origins and Odyssey. The game will rely less on a traditional leveling system and instead focus more on the selection of skills through skill trees selected by the player as Eivor advances through the game. Enemies will be rated based on the collection of skills. The skills trees will be similar to those found in The Witcher, Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Player choices through conversation or gameplay options will have impacts on the characters and their political alliances with other non-player characters.

A central feature of the game is the settlement that the player, as Eivor, will help build and lead during the game. Ismail described its importance as "a lot of what you're doing in the game world is, at the end of the day, going to feed into the settlement so that it can grow, it can flourish." The player will be able to direct construction of certain types of buildings which in turn provide benefits for gameplay. To build these structures, the player will need to lead the vikings on raids to collect resources. Naval combat will return, though more as a means of faster medium for travel for performing such raids, and for escaping after land combat, rather than in engagement with other naval vessels.

Valhalla is a single player game, but will include online components for the purpose of encouraging players to share their progress and creativity.

Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Set to release on February 18, 2022. A sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States. Set in a semi open world areas of individual hubs with RPG elements, the game follows loosely the plot of the Dragon Ball Z anime series with the player assuming the role of protagonist Goku. The game is not considered open world with one massive sandbox but instead divided into individual hubs that will be locked until reaching a certain point in the story, only then will these areas be unlocked for exploration. These individual hubs are not small and the openness of these areas gives all the more reason to have flight as a mode of travel with both the verticality and area being impressive. Some areas are full of life and cities whilst others are more barren and devoid of life.

Flying will be a huge aspect of the game and the main form of travel to objectives and other parts of the map unless running at super speeds is preferred, the nimbus cloud will also be a mode of transport and for the Ultimate Edition the Tao Pai Pai Pillar will be available.

During general gameplay and flight the game handles like a typical third-person game, when fighting the perspective changes to an over-the shoulder fighting game. Fighting is a mix between typical punches, kicks, dodging and ki-blasts with special moves and combos involved.

Outside of combat you are free to explore the different locations, collect minerals with ki-blasts and fish. The emphasis on RPG progression sets this game apart from typical fighting games, Goku will not start with his most powerful moves with them only being unlocked through the skill tree and progression through the story. There are five different ways to power up; eating, battling, finding ki-orbs and creating communities. Linking characters to community leaders of different types can maximise experience gain. Orbs found in the world through exploration are the main currency for progressing the skill tree. Meals are important as foraging for fruit or crafting dishes at a cook can incur permanent stat increases. By fighting in battles experience points will be gained, choose your battles and make sure your character is at the adequate level before engaging.

Far Cry 6 is a first-person shooter game developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. It is the sixth main installment of the Far Cry series for Amazon Luna, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. The game is set to be released on October 7, 2021.

The game is set on Yara, a fictional Caribbean island ruled as a dictatorship by "El Presidente" Antón Castillo (portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito), who is raising his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez) to follow in his rule. The player takes the role of a local Yaran named Dani Rojas, a former soldier in the Yaran armed forces turned guerrilla soldier fighting for freedom who attempts to restore their nation to its former glory. The player can select Dani's gender at the start of the game.

Far Cry 6 is an action-adventure first-person shooter game. Gameplay follows from previous Far Cry games, with players using makeshift weapons, vehicles, and hiring Amigos, the new "Fangs for Hire" system, to topple the tyrannical regime.

Far Cry 6 takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, which is inspired by Cuba and described as "the largest Far Cry playground to date" and "a tropical paradise frozen in time". It is ruled by "El Presidente" Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito), a fascist dictator with full control over the island. Castillo is guiding his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez), who is unsure of his own future, to follow in his footsteps. Esposito described his character as a leader "trying to empower the people to understand that they need strong leadership now", but is stuck in the middle of a revolution. Esposito further added "His father was a dictator before him and he wants to empower the people to take their country back. His goal is to use the resources that they have within the country to survive without allowing outsiders to come in and co-opt their scientists, their intellectual property, all of these things". Esposito continued that Antón is "trying to empower his son to take up his mantle and really embrace ideas that would allow him to see that soon he will probably be the next leader in this country".

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The game will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Played from a third-person perspective, the game takes place in Washington D.C. 7 months after its predecessor, in which a civil war between survivors and villainous bands of marauders breaks out. In the game, players can cooperate with each other to complete objectives. The game will also feature raids, which can be completed by up to 8 players.

The Division 2 takes place in Washington D.C., seven months after the events of the Dollar Flu in the wintery New York City that were portrayed in the first game. The epidemic has spread to Washington D.C. as well, accompanied with riots and breakdown of social order and structure, which is exacerbated by an ongoing heatwave. A civil war has broken out in the area between the survivors and murderous bandits and factions that are attempting to take control.

Militant factions like the True Sons have established a strangle hold over the civil war-struck capital, led by former Joint Task Force member Antwon Ridgeway. To curb the ongoing chaos and to re-establish order, Directive 51 is enacted in Washington D.C., following which Division agents are sent to the capital, tasked with working alongside the civilian militia to overcome the enemy factions and recapture the capital.

Hitman 3 (HITMAN III) is an upcoming stealth game developed and published by IO Interactive. The game will be the eighth main installment in the Hitman series and the third and final installment of the World of Assassination trilogy, following Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018), in celebration of the series' 20th anniversary. It is set to be released for Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia (under the title Hitman: World of Assassination), and Nintendo Switch on 20 January 2021.

Like its predecessors, Hitman 3 is a stealth game played from a third-person perspective and players once again assume control of assassin Agent 47. In the game, 47 will travel to various locations and carry out contracted assassinations, continuing the story of the last two games. The base game features six new locations: Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Chongqing, Mendoza and an epilogue set in the Carpathian Mountains, Romania. Players who owned Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2 (2018) will be able to import maps, levels and their progress into Hitman 3.
